From 30th until 31st January the president of YRN, Gloria Vitaly is taking part at the ECOSOC Youth Forum at the UN Headquarters in New York.
The Youth Forum, held annually by the United Nations Economic and Social Council is a platform for the youth to engage in a dialogue with the member states and to discuss the policy frameworks. It helps to promote innovative, institutionalized approaches, and initiatives for advancing the youth development agenda at national, regional, and global level and to find solutions to the global challenge of strengthening resilience and sustainable development. During those two days, topics such as “The role of youth in building sustainable and resilient urban and rural communities” and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 6,7, 11,12, 15 and 17 are going to be discussed. The interactive breakout sessions will actively engage the audience, examine the key concerns on regional level and the priorities for meaningful youth participation in the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals.
Earlier this year, Gloria was elected as the representative of Regional Focal Point on SDG4. As one of the goals for the Youth Regional Network is to establish a closer cooperation with the United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth (UN MGCY) we will continue participating actively in debates and discussions.
